Well after being MIA for pretty much the last month, I thought I would post some progress shots of the project I have been slaving away on to try to get it ready for the summernats, it's getting there slowly, and there has been a bit more progress than shown in these pics, but as you can see there is still a bit to be done. we started out with pretty much nothing more than the painted shell siting on the hoist and have worked thru delays from parts suppliers and are at the stage where the motor and gearbox will be installed within the next day or so and the remainder of the interior can be installed and the car can be registered and run in ready for the nats, due to the closure of businesses/suppliers over the x-mas/new year period it isn't going to be as easy as it seems but I am fairly confident that we will make it there
And yes before anyone comments/complains, it is a holden, but no I have not converted to the dark side I have been using this as a learning experience for when I do a buildup of my own, much better to learn on someone elses car than your own after all :s6:
It is actually my housemates car, the rebuild has been going on for the past 5 years (got screwed around by the first panelbeater, then took it elsewhere and got it done properly, albeit slowly) and now it's nearing completion and what better place to take it for it's first show than the summernats eh
It's not hothouse green but it is similar, IMO it looks heaps better than hothouse though.
Transmission is a steel cased celica 5 speed
