Hey Kenaz. I hear that you drive a VS Berlina? I have a few queries about them and I hope that being in ford forums you can give unbiased advice.

What made you choose a VS over say a el fairmont ghia? Also can you tell me what you like about the vs compared to the falcon counterparts and pro's and cons with it?

Also, did you end up getting the El 5.0lt?

Yes, I dont know about the VS, but he now has an EL 5.0 Ghia.

What an odd thread.

I'm Ash's brother, I think originally ash wanted an EL ghia 5.0 but had trouble finding one. He's allways liked the VS shape and found a low K example in good nik and grabbed it..

IMHO the VS looks hot, and it goes hard. It's just not as refined as a Falcon... I'm sure Ash will see this thread at some stage and be able to give you a better answer. And yeah he got the EL, check in his gallery for pics. :)

oh btw the VS is 4 sale come with 18's and a nice H/U. Only done 80,000 k's.

Yeah, lets here the opinion on the VS, im considering getting one, so it will be good to have an opinion.

Ok then, here's my opinion of both the VSII Berlina V6 and EL Ghia 5.0.

VS Pros
-Good acceleration for a V6 auto
-Good handling (even before it was lowered with wider tyres)
-Extremely reliable (though I'm sure the Holden service history and low K's helped)
-Nicely weighted steering
-Great fuel economy
-Beautiful seats

VS Cons
-Unpredictable auto trans (though shift quality isn't too bad)
-Engine sounds very rough when revved
-Very bland interior for a luxury type car

EL Pros
-Luxury galore
-Handles quite well for a heavy luxo barge
-Well refined compared to a Calais
-Aftermarket support for the Windsor

EL Cons
-Only slightly quicker than the VS V6 in stock form
-Very light steering
-Those damn yellow headlights!

At the moment I still have both cars as Damian mentioned the VS is for sale. It's not in my best interests to keep both cars so the VS has to go. Whoever ends up buying it will be getting a great car in my opinion.
