Ford the man or Ford the car?

Henry Ford won $1000 in the sweepstakes speed record race in 1901 but the Henry Ford Company that was behind that car became Cadillac not the later formed Ford Motor Company.

It was sold in 1902.He bought the car back latter on. It now is in the Ford museum in Dearborn..

Of interest the mechanic was Spider Huff engineer Otto Barthel...
I wander if that name means anything to the "otto system" I have seen on Mazda's... ??? Another name for supercharging....??
