Just wondering, as I saw a Camry in the carpark at Crown Casino with one stuck on its windscreen. Was a Laser only, that is no radar detection mode.

I know radar detectors are not, has legislation banned Laser only detectors? Be good if they are legal, it would help a little bit anyway :-)

hmm, thats got me thinking, If i think i can keep away from oncoming radar (usually can keep away from them), and have a Laser only detector (even though you cant have them) so the radar detector detector doesnt know I have a Laser detector, I dont see how they could catch me with one?
Do the police have laser detector detectors?
How much are laser only detectors?

I guess they arent going to work as well as radar detectors as the cop can have it off ( so you cant detect it) and point it at you with it when he likes so no good for quiet roads (which i like :D ).

Oh well, ill keep thinking.....

I think its easier to just buy a decent radar/laser detector unit and just slap on some Photoblocker paint for protection.
Any decent one comes with an inbuilt radar-detector detector detector anyway. HAHA, try saying that out aloud.

And ur right, they are all illegal but in my experience the cops dont notice them at all unless theyre out to get you. Its not hard to remove them if ur getting pulled over anyway.
The only time I got caught with mine, the cop had to radio to base to find out what to charge me with. He then gave me back my radar detector and said that I shouldnt have it but he just didnt know what to charge me with. haha, tuff luck.

My detector works on both the radar and laser and have never had a problem with it

Why cant you just have a Detector and if they pull you over chuck it under the seat or something or if they send you a ticket tell them to shove it up their ass and that their equipment is shithouse

A Uniden got it from the States,and must be about 5 years old now still works fine.

Im using a COBRA TRAPSHOOTER and a WHISTLER 1748. They do the job but your never going to get 100% coverage short of installing revolving number plates.

Its a vicious circle, one day ll have to get like a radar detector detector detector detector detector detector detctor detecoter detector detecotrer.........

I got mine for 250 at the time. Imk actually selling the other one so PM if interested.

Like i said, they dont cover you 100%. Most fixed speed cameras use piezo-detectors (pressure plates in the road) so you cant tell theyre there till u get a letter in the mail :( The Citylink and Western Ring Road are the biggest ****ers, they hide behind the signs and monitor each lane which are always lit so they dont need flashes to see your number plate. Just memorize their locations.
