Last of the V8s nearly gone

Anyone else hear that the 5.0 is all but sold out, with a few months left before barra remaining?

I was at my dealership this morning looking at a blue XR8 when the sales man made the claim that they have the last two V8s on the floor right now. When they are sold that is it!

There are still a couple in Alice. However I had
read somewhere that Ford are going to use the Mustang motors to replace the windsor

I think that would ofbeen the sales man jerking you around.

Ford will have enough Windsors right up until Barra.

Remember, they ordered the last order. They will not run out. If they do, the Production Schedular will be in the poo.

Oh yeah, the Muxtang motor will not fit in the AU. I think it is to tall, or to wide

Sold out wasn't the right wording, more like what is in dealer stock around the country now is it. Not making anymore as there are no more motors to use

Hmm .. this actually fits with the info I have received - the remaining 5.0's are being used for the remaining T3 builds.

Nor do you blame the production scheduler for this difficulty. All dealers were asked (as they always are) to provide a DSRD which predicts stock run down sales projections. Not really anyones fault that T3 has already outsold those predictions (and in fact S1 and S2 combined) or that XR8 has been more popular than at first thought.
Just leaves a nasty gap for awhile.

This is a golden opportunity for Ford to bring out something special in the I6,(limited run turbo?) till Barra has been released.

Ford has the experience from previous proto types. Just keep it simple.

Come on Ford, lets get that competitive edge back. Quality is not an issue, compared to "other"cars, just a bit of extra grunt will do.
