Re: legal mod help
When I shoe horned a 302 Cleveland into an 81 Nissan Patrol I had my engineer ring the RTA and ask what needed to be done to comply, but that was over 10 years ago, but it was the only way I could find out what was needed.
I suggest that if you are making mods that will require engineering (ala engine changes) got to the nearest RTA Inspection centre and ask them - get it in writing and then make sure you take your car to the same place for the inspection.
It's always dodgy dealing with them, I rebuilt a 66 GT Cortina with my father (He's a mechanic) when I was a kid (started when I was 13) finished when I was 18, took it over the pits they couldnt find anything wrong with it so they said that the window tint was too dark, even though it was RTA approved tint.... I had to peel the stuff off, what a bugger of a job, made worse by the fact that we had the glass all tinted prior to re-fitting it to the car.
If they wanna knock you back they will
rant off...
