I'm looking at purchasing a new fridge soon and was originally going to stick with Westinghouse but LG fridges are good price - are they any good tho? Anyone had experience with their stuff?
yeh i got a LG fridge about a year ago. Got no worries with it, runs like a charm. 5 year warranty anyway. The bloke at the shop pointed out that they are the same as a couple of the other big name brands as well. If you look closely they onlyhave different shelves. It was either kelvinator or westinghouse. LG makes the fridges for them, and they put diff shelves in them and sell them for about $100 more! dunno if its true, but they look the same.
got a LG microwave about 3 years ago too. its no worries either. even handles the missus putting foil in it! made some sparks though! lol

Remember you will have the fridge for some time. What I have found over the years,it pays to spend that little bit extra IFF you can.A micro wave is cheap so its o/k But fridges and washing machines go quality!! Westinghouse/Kelvinator/Maytag...I find that the simplest these things are the longer they last...
The shelves can be alittle brittle on G.E fridges...I.M.H.O...
John will be happy I think they are all American!!!

to be honest, i wouldn't touch them with a 10ft pole! i was in the market for a TV a few weeks ago, and a few LGs seemed quite tempting (price, features) but then i thought to myself "it's an LG!!"
so i bought a sony - the most expensive of the common brands (panasonic, sharp, philips, samsung, lg) but probably the best too.
a mate of mine bought a similar spec Sharp TV (68cm flatscreen, stereo sound, etc) and the sony shits all over the sharp for sound. picture quality is roughly the same, and his one has some more features, but the sound on my sony is just awesome! his sharp speakers sound worse than the speakers on my old teac!!
my suggestion to you is to stick with brand which have a proven track record.

I dont think ill be buying Sony again, not after the trouble ive had with my VCR (mate has the exact same one and its had problems too) and my PS2.
The Sony Video Camera and TV ive got are fine though
I think ill be going European for any electric goods in the future....
