frown Little bit off topic

You guys will never be able to say I don't give you plenty to read. hehehehehe

Young guns prefer Citroen's Saxo over any rival hot hatch, according to a recent survey of performance fans.
The 120bhp VTS was rated the most desired pocket rocket on our roads, beating Ford, Renault and VW rivals.

The average hot Saxo buyer is only 22 and will typically spend around 3,000 tuning and customising the car further. While used prices remain high a P-reg VTR bought from a main dealer is likely to cost around 5,000 Citroen encourages new car buyers to look to the sporty models with its free insurance offer for those over 21. However, they may be in for a shock when trying to get cover after the policy expires.

Anyone know anything about this model???

LOTS

There is a current craze for this car .

Its Citroens baby car . The VTR is the slower one but looks Identical and the VTS is on par with say a golf gti .

They start modding them from new and they are only interestted in looks other than maybe an air filter and nice exhaust .

The engines are ok but there is not much you can do and it can get expensive .

At least with a Focus or a Fiesta you can go back in histiry dump a cosworth engine into a Focus or possibly an Escort RS Turbo into a fiesta .

I recently went to a cruise night and it was full of boy racers like this , yes it nice to show your car but not to show off in it !!!!

Especialy when there are police cruising about becuse of the showing off!!!!

Sorry but I'm not impressed buy these guys as the cars are all looks and no go . Even a bit of cheekieness with a nitro kit would be fun but they are not interested in that either . Just big wheels big stereos and big exhaust pipes . All of these are ok in small doses but as they can add to the overall effect but too much is just that "too much"

I know exactly what you are saying. I guess my car is a little like that. I changed the way it looks brake interior exhaust and I did look at the engine but chickened out. I even looked a a stereo, but I have never really been that big a fan of pulling a car to pieces. I meean you pay 50k Aussie for it and once you pull em to pieces they never seem to go back the same way

Don't be so hard on your self

The thing with most of these cars is the best they will ever do is about 0-60 in 8 seconds and thats the real gti's the fakes like the VTR and others of this sort are luck to see less than 10 so no better than a standard mondeo .

At least you guys down under get nive big V8's to play with most of the boy racers I see on the road can't even fit the springs to lower them or change there oil once and a while they buy new because there is no hassles and then complain about the high cost to insure and run them .

What a shame ???? Nah I got my car for 800 and with all the mods and repspray in total cost me 3000 max and were taking about a car that would give a cosworth owner a scare cause I almost kept up with it . And not just that I have a Fully Comp Insurance for under 300 a year without a no claims bonus (admitadly I've never had any endorsements in ten years of motoring ) The biggest bonus comes next year when its worth every pennie I spent on it as its going up in value , not down.

So this is why I tend to laugh at these guys , in more than one way!!!
