The moose in the photo is an Alaska-Yukon moose taken by Eric Arnette on September 5th. It was taken in the Kilbuck Mountains, which is 380 miles west of Anchorage, AK. The rack is approximately 75 inches wide, has about 36 countable points, and was unofficially scored by a person who is not an Official Measurer at around 264 points. In the near future it'll be posted on the Boone and Crockett Club's web site on "Trophy Watch" where the official score will be announced once it is entered.
carn't belive these animals have their own club for murdering defenceless animals how can it be legal. (dont get me wrong am no greeny but even i know that just crap)

Jesus god, some Aussies have a problem with hunting? I'd LOVE to have that hanging on my wall...only problem - you'd need a concrete wall to hang it on.
And to everyone whining about how the poor ol' moose got killed, the beef you ate came from a cow that was killed MUCH more painfully than a bullet in it's heart.

Hmmm, I wonder if he intends to eat that moose? or more likely he just wants to hang its head on his trophy wall. Whats the point? Trophy hunting is a sport that I just can't understand.
So whats he going to do with the body of the animal after he chops the head off????? That Moose could feed 100+ people, what a shocking waste, absolutly deplorable.
I mean, seriously, who the fu#$ wants to hang the head of an animal on ther wall just so that they can gloat to their friends that they took its simple, happy life with a bullet to the head. Destroying its life, killing the parent of another moose, and on top of that, wasting a good 200odd KG of meat and other usable products.
Grow up, think about more than yourselves and treat life with a little more respect.
In all actuality most sport and game hunters do process the meat. Usually selling it to the processing facility who then processes it and sell to the public - OR - they will take it to the processing facility and have them bag it, tag it and package it for them to take back with them.
My uncle is one of these said sport hunters and does this every year. He will do a big gathering and BBQ/Cook the meat during the spring/summer/fall months with most of his friends and the family. What is not eaten or want he knows he can not eat he gives to those that could not/have not the means to buy food or the ability to hunt for it.
So all in all guys not everyone does this for fun and leaves a rotting corpse headless there. In fact there are laws against doing such things....yes it happens, but rarely.
It is all a matter of perspective. To those that do it they are right and think you are foolish for critiqisizing them. To you that critique it is wrong, but you are only basing it on part of the facts.
Ever since the dawn of man, we have killed animals for our survival.
If you ScoopED and others object to that, you are also objecting to the survival of mankind and our primal instincts.

Mate, you should read my post a little more carefully, I never said that I objected to the hunting of animals for food. In fact I am all for animals for food, I am a meat lover if there ever was one.
Eating other species is all part of the food chain. The only thing I have against hunting is, if the sole purpose of the kill is to trophy the animal. That is just wrong. No different to me going down the road, finding someone of a different race, shooting them in the head, and mounting them on the wall. Yes, it would be a good talking piece, but it most certainly is not the right thing to do.

Point taken gladly...... and thank you very much for the insight. And no, I didnt realise there were laws against leaving corpses.
In response.........(Read above paragraph).
Also, I think that it is very commendable that your uncle donates the ramaining meat to the needy, a truely great use for the meat rather thank it going to waste.
