Not sure if you guys remember, but back in April my g/f and I bought an '82 LTD with a 302 for her son. This past week he decided to buy himself something else. So since I still need a car myself, we are buying the LTD back from him.

Since we bought it we replaced the problematic variable venturi carb with a 2bbl from a '69 Cougar. Unfortunately it has turned out to be equally problematic. Constantly fluctuating idle. Almost impossible to get it to idle down. Hard cold starts that will only get worse as winter approches. So I want to convert it over to fuel injection. So now I'm in the market for a parts car or truck to donate the injection and electrical parts I need. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated since finding anything in this car wasteland called North Dakota is nearly impossible. (I've been looking for a car for myself in my pricerange since December with no luck until now.) Or, if anyone has all the parts I'd need to convert it would be just as helpful.

Here's the car in action. Opening up the exhaust (gutted the cats and installed dual glass packs) replacing the variable venturi and tweaking the timing really woke it up.

No water btw.

It will be a big job converting to injected.

There must be a better carb setup out there that will work properly. What does Holley have on offer in the 2 barrel. Maybe you could find a 4 barrel manifold and whack that on with a small vacum secondary Holley. They usually work good.

Actually changing it over to efi isn't near as big of a job as the frame stretching,rear engine mods I have planned for my S-10. :wink: Especially if I can find a donor car to park right next to it and pull what I need as I work. And personally I never cared for vac secondary carbs. Used too many Holley 3310s over the course of the last 20 years.
