Thumbs up Lotsa nice cars

well, have spent the last week driving around the south of england and had a great time. had a 1.6 focus which was a nice little car. had the immense pleasure of driving through the centre of london on saturday when i brought the hire car back...i was ready to rip someones head off by the time i got to the hertz office. london and cars do not go together.

anyway, while wandering around, i got to see three lamborghinis on saturday (and got to hear a diablo being given a bit of stick, oohhhhhhh), two diablos and a murcialego. looked like a UFO. awesome car. saw a couple of porsches and ferraris and a cayenne. the whole concept of the cayenne was summed up perfectly for me...some yuppie dickhead parked this spotless car on one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world (bond street) and his missus was loading junior into the pram. maybe porsche will release something to tackle the tarago next...enough ranting. spotted more than a few jaguars and a couple of astons, even a DB5 yesterday.

very few older cars here. did go to a ford dealer in kent and saw one of the old works rally escorts, but have seen no mk2 escorts on the road in 5 weeks in europe.

am leaving london tmoorrow morning and get to perth on wednesday. looking forward to getting back into the cars again...i need a car with some grunt.

hope you all have / had a good Australia day.

Re: Lotsa nice cars

My oldest brother lives in London (for the past seven years or so). He occassionally calls from his mobile whilst walking around the streets and will start to laugh and say... "Ha! Listen to this, you'll love this..." *Vrrooom* "That was a 360 Modena starting up", all the time. Apparently he sees Ferraris, Lambos, Porsches, AMGs etc etc all the time in the local streets, what a dream!

Reminds me of when I was driving out of Monaco 2 years ago , and just got onto their freeway system driving an Audi A4 . I was doing around 210kph , when a Ferrari F350 passed me at full noise like I was standing still . They have the roads to support expensive fast cars , unlike us .
Enjoy your flight.

Re: Lotsa nice cars

Yeah, I've been to London in 1998, the cars you see there are
amazing. Same as Paris and they don't seem to care if they dent them either, because I saw a couple of Lambo's and Ferrari's with
carpark dents and kerb-scrathed rims.

Re: Lotsa nice cars

I was in Monaco too and had a look at a dream garage! It was just like Rex Gorell ford, but Ferrari!! I asked if i could take pics and the bloke was happy to let me, there were 360's that had all the scratches, dirt and stone chips that you'd do to your company car, there was an F40 on a hoist with its engine out, there was an F50 sitting there. About 15 Ferraris were being serviced!! We were just looking around with our mouths wide open!!

Saw a sweet red, hm, 456 i think, flying along the coastal roads of San Remo. Saw a couple 355's doing about 250 on the Autostrada. And the speed limit was 130 then, now is 150. I was doing 180 and being passed. One of the best things i saw was on a hilly cornery 3 lane highway, a motorbike that was using the WHOLE 3 lanes like a grand prix rider, doing around 250+, i LOVE the way they drive there!!
