Made it finally

Hi all

I've finally made it to melbourne. After living in caravan parks, a flat thats leak and a psycho roommate i've finally settled down in a place of my own.

Some changes have been made since i was last online some 5 and a half months ago. a new web page some 200 more members.

All for the better i must say.

1 thing i have noticed missing is the list of members and what cars they drive. Not for me to say anything, love the new site though.

Anyway catch you all later hope to catch up to you at a cruze.

Cheers

Ben

Hey mate! Welcome back..

I removed the list because it was taking too much time and reducing privacy slightly.

I actually really liked that list... *sobs*

I'm not really sure why... I think it was just the sight of seing that many passionate EA-ED owners in a massive list.

I'm sure it acted as an incentive for others to join as well (by showing how many people had already joined).

I don't think it really reduced privacy to any great extent, but I can understand why it would be a pretty high maintenance section of the site...

One of the good things about the list was that everybody had a membership number. But i can understand why it was removed.

Also can anybody recommend a good panel beater in the south eastern suburbs of melbourne?

Cheers Ben

I recommend Horrigan's Motor Body Repairs - they are good blokes :)
1314 Malvern Road, Malvern 3144 (03) 9822 1075

Regarding the list, I liked having it there too, but it was a real chore to keep it up to date - in addition to typing the info, there was the uploading and maintaining the same format, etc. I keep a spreadsheet and am happy to give updates if people ask. There are 238 members nation-wide (inc. NZ) currently.

I did receive special requests from people not wanting their details put up. But in the end it was a question of too much time required for too little benefit. Alex, you might regret making that offer mate. But if you guys insist, it can be done.

Well how hard could it be? We could say update it every 2 weeks or something like that so it's not so often, and if nobody wants their car info or location info put up then we don't have to, maybe just have their nicknames if that's ok with them. I have a number of ideas for the site, but they won't be implemented straight away, these things take time. It's only the start people!

What new site is this? i thought this was the new site? A little updating and she'll come up nicely.

I know i've missed a bit but why is there a need for change? A lot of what was discussed last time i was online has been incorporated into this site (tuning and other stuff).

anyway just a couple of my thoughts

Cheers

Ben
