What do you prefer? Automatic or manual? There is no such thing in this poll as semi-auto, Tiptronic or whatever. Clutch or not clutch - it's that simple.

I have an auto (as does my wife) and I really miss changing gears. :(
Auto of course , but after almost 40 years and over a million covered I still have a manual , but it is a toy that's raced , the other 7 are all auto.

Re: Manual or Automatic

I've been driving automatic ever since, but I learned on a manual HAHA. I want a manual car. Just so I can change gears whenever I want to. Haha. Automatic's not so flexible.

And remember Kate, drive it like you stole it. That's a lot more fun that way!

Re: Manual or Automatic

Manual all the way, as long as I get to choose the car.

I love the way I feel when I am driving one, and I feel like the car is that much cooler. However on some cars, like my '52 I want a automatic in it. Just because its fairly awkward in some of those big cars, not only in appearance but it in practicality as well, with a big bench seat across the front.

Although I have seen a couple with a dip in the center to make more room for the stick

All in all nothing is better in the world, in my mind, than a 69 boss 429 mustang.. with a 4 speed

Re: Manual or Automatic

My preference is a manual as you have better control, you can 'feel' the road better through a stick, especially when the snow flies. However, wife overrules as usual and autos it is across the board.

Re: Manual or Automatic

Automatic. I used to be able to shift a manual good enuff to race but when I went auto it would outshift me without missing.

Re: Manual or Automatic

Manual here, I like the control and direct power a standard gearbox gives me.
