Fast cars, Turbos and auto's all go togther...they have the best times..
Not necessarily when corners are involved. Straights are boring, they only connect the fun bits. My definition of a fun car is one that eats corners and to do that you have to be absolutely sure what gear you are in.
I want to know that I am in 2nd gear after screaming in to a hairpin. If a car is getting a little floaty around a curve at the top of 3rd or 4th I'd like it to change gear when I consider it safe to do so. I don't want to have to rely on a yaw sensor, traction control, engine management, etc to determine my changes.
Drag Racing 4.5 sec covers 400 meters
thats racing...
140 mph in a 10.50 car in 400 meters thats hauling...
Well we will have to agree to disagree when it comes to the definition of racing. For drag racing autos are the way to go, but the guy who clocked 1:40 (Porsche 911 GT3) around Phillip Island wasn't doing it in an auto.
