there are many things that piss me off. old bearded farts in saabs who havent grasped the conceot of lanes on a road (and then toot back when you try to warn them they are in the wrong lane...mate, next time i see you, i will break that middle finger for you

), but mcdonalds ANZAC day ads are truly lower than a slugs guts.

cashing in on the lives lost by countless ANZACS to sell more of your stinking shitty burgers is truly a disgrace. no wonder crusties break your frigging windows when they go on their little rampages. to use the legend of the ANZAC though is truly corporate cynicism at its absolute shittiest.

to the persons who; created the idea, created the ads, sanctioned the ads...i hope you all die a truly horrible death. You do not deserve to be Australians....you should be deported to the dirtiest, filthiest shithole on the planet. maybe that will remind you what these great men fought for.

Actually from the point of view from the girl serving him some free coffee I thought it was a good touch.Especially the look on his face when he asked "how much is that".
The good part of it that I liked was she showed some respect for the lonely looking old man.That does not happen much these days.They deserve a better go in some ways....

But I see what you mean from a corperate point of view. I would like to think they put there money where there mouth is and offer them a free coffee and burger..
Or is this part of our tall poppy syndrome knocking successfull companies...

not a case of tall poppy syndrome at all. i work in a large company (not as big as maccas) and am in a position o hear the reasoning behnd so many decisions. mcdonalds are not giving out free coffees to diggers because of some sort of corporate conscience. they are advertising it to show us all how much the 'care'.

i agree, the oldies do deserve more respect...but using the anzac legend to show us how much maccas 'care' is a disgrace. we are talking about boys who died for their country. i dont care if it is maccas, bunnings, ford or the local deli. nobody has the right to exploit these guys deaths in search of a $.

oh, i saw that ad today.

the first time i saw it, i cringed.

the second time it came on, i changed the channel.
it's not often that a television commercial forces me to switch the channel.

and speaking of disrespect today at school we had a ANZAC ceremony with war veterins attending, along with local government representitives. and during the last post and minute of silence two teachers behind me were talking so i turned around and gave them the evil eye as to say shut up, but they still kept talking so when it was over i walked up to one of them and said how disrespectfull i thought they were being. and he gave me a detention. also for the brissie ff readers did any of you watch the ch 7 news. if so my school was on it for the memorial ceremony, and the singers that were singing in the back ground are friends of mine.

i can see both points of view actually. on one hand, i liked the ads, but on the other hand it's just a shameless front to make people think how Maccas is a great corporation.

i remember this one time in 1999 i went back to my old school for some reason (i finished in 1998) and i was wearing jeans and my old school jersey. i had to speak to one of the student there and then because i didn't have the time to come back another day, so i knocked on the door and sincerely appologised for the interruption, and this b*tch starts going off at me how i should be in class, and orders me to go back right now! i sort of pointed out that the year on my jersey says 1998, not 1999, and i was so close to telling her where to go.

sorry about the rant guys but teachers can be real arseholes sometimes and it always gets me worked up.

When I was at school a few years ago we had our one minute silence. All I can say is that it was all going great till some bloke had to let one rip...

There is no issue here. The actions of large corporations can only EVER be seen to be motivated by greed. They cannot and do not know how to operate in any other manner. Been there, seen that.

Today, Macca's sucks.
Tomorrow, Macca's will still suck.
Everytime they shaft us by giving the wrong order on the drive-thru makes me spew..... Especially how it's a half hour trip to home. This latest tripe on the box is the latest in a loooong list of stupid ads.... My godkid's are brainwashed by all this shit. It's all they ever want to eat when I take them to the shops...
Whatever happened to real decent nutricious food?????
