I've just moved into the CBD, (Melbourne) and trying to find a 'do it yourself' car wash. They all seem to be 'hand car wash' drive in services.

I've looked in yellow pages, car wash web sites, car lovers, etc and can't find any!!

Anyone seen one in or around the CBD? I don't mind driving to get to one, but the closest I can think of is Moorabbin, Preston or Williamstown.

Im trying to find one that has the coin-operated 'spray yourself' jobby.

I always find that at the coin-operated ones I end up spending $10 - $12 anyway to get a thorough clean and for the basic cleans at those places where you pay for it its about $14 - $15. So its either 30 - 35 minutes of my time and effort, or i pay $2 extra and get a team of people to do it in about 10 minutes.

But still sometimes I like doing it myself. Get the microfibre cloth out, get the meguires car shampoo and spend a good 2 hours including waxing. But when I just want a clean car... $2 more ain't too bad.

I know of a place that does waxing in under an hour for a really good brazilian. lol

I really want the car wash so I can wash my wheels. Those Brembos make a fair bit of dust when pushed hard.
