Merlin's Political Statement re Refugees

Did anyone see on BB tonight that Merlin was evicted, and then walked onto stage with black tape over his mouth, holding a sign saying "Free Ta (sic) Refugees" and just sat there and wouldnt say anything? He ended up going off stage and was not seen again.

I dont agree with what he said or how he did it.... anyone else?

Re: Merlin's Political Statement re Refugees

Haha, I was wondering how long it would take until someone started a thread on this.

Well, everyone got to see how well Gretel can handle a "crisis" (I wouldn't put too much time into anything from that show, after all its all showbiz)- which was, well, pretty good really.

Someone isnt going to get a lancer either - infact, I think the producers would find him too much of a liability to put anywhere near a camera again. Therefore, he has forgone his post inmate responsibilities, therefore, he will probably get no prizes.

yeah, I don't understand why people have to have such extreme ways of expressing their beliefs. All it ever does is degrade whatever statement you want to make.

Re: Merlin's Political Statement re Refugees

Yeah, Gretel handled it all pretty well considering it was live! And she was pretty blunt!

As for the Lancer, she also said Merlin would probably donate it to charity - so I guess he cant claim it now, can he? I mean, how would that look? To make his statement and then go claim his prizes anyway....

I thought he was a sook too.

Re: Merlin's Political Statement re Refugees

:wgaf:.... this bullshit will only bring more attention to the show through the media etc, in the coming week. I'm sure the producers will be grateful for this type of publicity, as the show isn’t really rating so well at the moment.

Anyway, the big question from the other night when Miriam (sp?) went into the house was, who was the transvestite? Gretel or Miriam?

The only thing I can say - I'd do anything I could not to talk to that host chick as well.....

I don't watch BB but I heard people talking bout it on #fordforums.

I dont care about the publicity either way, or whether the producers are grateful or not.... believe me some little FF thread is not gonna have that much impact anyway!

As for the ratings, I wouldnt know either way about that. And I dont really care. If you care, then dont read the thread or post on it....

Oh, and I think the term is transsexual, not transvestite!

Interesting avatar! : )

Re: Merlin's Political Statement re Refugees

One question...what was with the Free TA refugees bit...I don't get the spelling?

I personally laughed when I saw it was him that was voted out, bye bye dweeboid. And I laughed even harder when I saw what he was doing. Not because I want to see the refugees locked up at all, just because he looked like a desperate attention seeker...

...which brings me to my next point. I reckon the producers told the inmates during the week to do something extraordinary to boost ratings/attract publicity because the show is getting killed. I wouldn't put it past TV execs.
