I know I'm a bit late seeing as how today is November 18th, but I just couldn't bring myself to say it any earlier. It seems that every year people (the retail world) wants to celebrate earlier every year. Today at work, I had a customer wish me a merry christmas.

Silly me, I thought Thanksgiving was still coming up, what the hell happened to my calendar? Do people still celebrate Thanksgiving anymore, or is it just Christmas Part1? Frankly it'sjsut disgusting. I understand that this is the biggest retail season of the year, and alot of people are banking on it being a busy commercial season, but is it necessary to ram it down our throats in the middle of November? I may be old fashioned here (and I'm only 21) but I don't put up ANYTHING until at least the 15th of December. I don't care if you're Santa Claus, I ain't doing squat until that calendar says 15.

This year, I saw Christmas commercials on Halloween!

I thought to myself, "This is the reason I don't like the holidays at all." It's one thing to advertise and promote, it's another thing to force all this holiday cheeer and commercialism down our gullets.

i agree. they start pushing christmas earlier every year. my wife and i went to get our daughter her halloween costume and had trouble finding one. but we found plenty of christmas stuff. i start avioding department stores in september so i dont have to see all the christmas stuff. we put our tree up two weaks before christmas. and take it down a weak after. that gives the kids plenty of time to enjoy it.

I agree with both of you. It's crazy now, Santa's in the mall before Thanksgiving.:crazy1:. What am I saying, Santa was in the malls around here two days after Halloween.

It's the same down here guys. We put our tree up on Dec 1st and pull it down on new years day. All this BS in October is a bit much I reckon. Thanksgiving isn't really celebrated down here so we get rammed with Chrissy all the way through.. Commercialism does have an ugly side after all..

I dont celebrate xmas, and I too admit I dont like seeing it around any more than you guys do. What I do like is the feeling of the colder season getting closer. I miss the snow...Trey, hush! I know, Pullman should have ruined it for me, but nope! Anyhow, as a non xmas celebrator, I am usually never in the "xmas season."

I know, I know... shoot me... I like saying Merry Christmas Better (I am Roman Catholic)

But ...... Everyone and their Mutha wants us to say Happy Holidays...
