Mitsubishi Updates

Read this in ABC News

Fed Govt predicts Mitsubishi job losses

http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/s1112707.htm

Hope the Fed Govt is wrong about the job losses.

I for one am keeping all the workers, families and associated SA businesses in my thoughts today. As im sure are all other FF members.

No official announcement from MMC as yet.

Hears hoping it isn't all bad and if it is then lets hope Proton are serious about their offer of buying plants.

Re: Mitsubishi Updates

They are going to close the Engine Plant within 18 months and scaling down the Car Plant but they are staying open to develop and build the next model Magna.

Bad News and another Dark day for the Australian Motor Industry.

We can be one-eyed and passionate about Fords but it is always sad to see another company suffer, expecially when they were doing a good job in Australia. It is just Mitsubishi was suffering badly in major areas such as US and Japan. Our engine plant is suffering for mistakes mainly made overseas.

Re: Mitsubishi Updates

Yeah, I know a few guys who will lose their jobs. This is gonna have a fairly big impact all over the state, methinks.... I feel bad for the guys and their families. Really sucks.

There is a home loan co here is reducing its interest rate for people who buy Mitsis here.....Good on 'em.

Re: Mitsubishi Updates

Holden or Ford should buy the plant and keep growing, or even get together!!!

Hahaha GM should atleast be able to buy it, with the further expansions with overseas exports etc and the Daewoo cars that could be built here.
