In an attempt to cut costs and keep profits up, Mobil are closing all retail outlets and focusing their efforts on the refinery. Is it true? are we losing another Major retail Fuel supplier to the Supermarket Industry?
With Many Mobil outlets closed in the last 18 months I tend to agree. This brings me to ask:
What method of payment does everyone use for fuel? Do you stick it on a petrol card? Pay cash or pay by your personal credit card? If you pay by fuel card - which brand and why?
cheers,
Philbie

" i will own another V8, just what type of body it's in is another question. "
I pay by cash or EFT.. rarely by Credit card. Why, cause I pay for everything with cash. I dont use my credit card much. And I use the supermarket vouchers if I have them...
Personal credit card - because :
(a) I have no cash
(b) I have no fuel card
(c) I have no cash

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
I have noticed there are a few less Mobil Servce Stations (Not that they are SERVICE Stations any more) than there used to be, especially down here in Geelong.

Woolworths has 50% share in Caltex and will roll out Caltex/Petrol Plus sites by end of the year. Woolworths will set prices not Caltex.
Coles has a deal with Shell. Who knows how that will work. Standard & Poores states " Coles/Shell is not viable, Woolworths/Caltex is a viable concern, as sites will be located within 1km of a Woolworths store"
Action/Foodland are in talks with Gull to offer a similar deal to Coles, Woolworths. This is in W.A.
to get the price of fuel down, get the state and federal govt's greedy fingers out of fuel pricing.
That's funny because in the last month TWO Mobil service stations suddenly just closed down without notice here in Adelaide just down the road from where I live and they were both 24 hr servo's.
They have'nt finished stripping out the servo's yet but they definately are'nt going to open again!
Mobil sites closing?? Geez, I hope not. The 2 servo's most convenient to my house are both Mobil!!! One I use most often is 3k's from my house and I fill up there mid-week on my way home from work.
There's an old fashioned Caltex servo (complete with mechanical workshop) about 800 meters from my place which I use sometimes. I wonder what will happen to it after the Caltex tie-up with woollies??
I use personal credit card to pay for my juice.
