Hey guys, continuing on with my other thread.
What provider out of Optus/Vodafone/Virgin should I go for?
I'm after cheap everything (lol, derrr) but pretty good coverage.
I SMS a fair bit, and talk at night - most of the time.
Any opinions/recommendations greatfully appreciated.
Mason.
If you go for optus beware that free time will be reduced from 20 mins to 10 mins soon. And with there new 'fair go policy' if you exceed 2000 mins of free time a month u will be disconnected. Im not sure if this is fact its just what i have been told. Sorry for post qaulity, it is 4:30am. I'd go a virgin anyday. But for phone companys Telstra are the best but also expensive.
They are all turning into pricks, the carriers! Voidafone has phucked up their No-Plans scheme by adding in a flagfall, Sloptus will be phucking up the Yes-Time scheme, and afaik, Telstra just never was even close to the game!
I'm coming up to the end of my current contract very soon, and all the companies are pulling the plug or giving the Royal Rodger to their best schemes.
NOT HAPPY!!!! (Jan pissed off a long time ago)

Ok, a couple of things: The 2000minute limit has been around for quite some time.... although im not sure about the disconnection aspect: I think they just charge you for anything over that time maybe, again im not sure. As for the best plan Id go with Vodafone for the no-plans thing even with a flagfall (depending on how much) its still good value IMO. Virgin i hear isnt too bad either and Telstra...well lets not go there: im sure many FordForum'ers will tell you bad things about that 'corporation'....
Well who ever you go with, depending where you live, if you dont have reception you will just have a paper weight, I suggest your choice will be limited by the who can give you good reception in the area you live, or where you wish to mostly use it.
We use Optus for our work phones, and my wifes phone is with Optus, I cant complain about the service or anything to date.

What about the providers that your mates use - if the majority are with one certain carrier, go with that, because you'll probably call them the most often, and as such, same carrier calls are billed less (usually)
Anyone have the source for Optus going skank on freetime ?
If you want to make use of free/night rate mobile calls at then I would recommend Optus, If you want a cheaper per minute rate at any time of the day but with no free or special night rates go with Vodafone. I have a Telstra and an Optus phone at the moment, I would recommend Optus, Telstra just doesn't represent good value.
