Dont know if anything has already been posted, or if this is the right place to post this.
I am sure most of you have heard the news about the shootings at Monash today. I was in class there at the time, and it was a very scary hour or so. Sympathy goes out to all the families and friends of those who were injured and who passed away.
It is terrible that we cant even feel safe going to uni. These are trying times. Lets hope this is a once off, and isn't the start of any trends.
Once again, my sympathy to those more closely effected than me.
Can't believe stuff like this happens on our shores...

Likewise, my sympathy goes out to all who have been affected by this tragedy...
My girlfirend was in class in the Robert Menzies building at the time it happened. This kind of thing is just so close to home, it makes you feel as though you aren't safe anywhere. When I think about how close I was to loosing her (just one floor away), it really makes you re-evaluate your priorities in life.
Most people seem to disregard something like this when it happens overseas, perhaps dismissing it with some passing "oh, that's sad" comment, but when it happens right at your back door, it really gives you a stern wake up call.
I likewise sympathise with everyone who has lost someone or been hurt in that tradegy, being a uni student myself I would hate something like that to happen while studying for my future ... horrific :(

Relax people. All is okay. The pollies are gonna ban semi-automatic handguns so everyone who has a legal licence to hold one will have to hand it in. Then there will never be another case like this....... (AP shakes head)
Sympathies people. It is truly a sad sad thing.
