hey all,

at the end of may i will have inbetween $500 - $700 to spend, i know i should save it but i dont see this type of money comming my way for no reason in a long time so im gonna make the most of it

i wanna spend it on my car, some ideas i have come up with are:

- ed fairmont ghia rear garnish and tail lights

- tinted windows (the tint thats on it is cracked/ scratched/peeled
so it may cost more to get the tint taken off)

- lowering (my car is already lowered about an inch so i dont
know if it will cost less to lower it a tiny bit more)

- getting my rims professionally polished

the things i have already done are:

- clear front indicators

- 2 1/4 inch exhaust

- decent cd head unit

thats all i can think of now, can some people tell me roughly how much it will cost for each mod and also some other ideas?

I would go for a mild steel 2.25"-2.5" exhaust system which will leave you enough spare cash to get some clear front indicators, colour code ya door handles and buy another CD head-unit and sell me your old one

If i had some mula, i'd go performance-if insurance allows it.
Maybe some extractors. Lukey fitted shouldnt be more than $350
or a cam$?

Look at auctions for a wrecked car and steal the Manual g-box:)

Lowering will give it heaps better handeling. Set up like Jack Travis'(lowered 30mm on king springs) willcost $250ish

The Goodz and SiX_iN_a_RoW, i plan on getting the car resprayed later on in a slightly modified color so color-coding everything now will make things cost more later, thanks for the suggestion tho

i dont want to change the exhaust system at the moment, id rather just add on things like a hi flow cat and extractors, but im not sure if i want to do this yet either! its a hard decision, lowering more is starting to grow on me more and polish the rims up,

anyway keep the sugestions comming!!

Well by the looks of your pics the car is pretty damn tidy anyway, so maybe you could do something to improve the handling, ( if you havent already ) like the whiteline adjustable sway bar and trailing arm kit or something similar, would leave you a bit of spare cash to do minor things too, like the front indicators, tinting, maybe even keyless entry etc

I'd go for lower springs and you should have enough dosh left to get the rims polished. Either that or you could get some extractors fitted and buy a K&N filter + XH snorkel with the change. Should be good

thanks for the replies,

well $150 of the money is tied up already because of a dodgy reair on the floor when my bro had the car, a peice of the floor and sill was cut out and a new peice welded in but the bog is cracking and it wasnt painted properly, so im going to get the painting apprentice at work to fix it for me,

so if i get the lowest amount of money ($500) and $150 is already gone then would i still have enough to get it lowered say an inch more?

or better how much should i pay to get it lowered and what brands should i be looking at?

$350 should be enough to get the car lowered more. It would easily be enough money if you were to do it yourself. I'd be looking at King Superlows or something similar.

there is no way i can do it myself, not enought tools and knowladge,

should i worrie about shocks and bushes ect?
