Fighting power with power is the only way forward for XR8, and even being a few cubes lighter than Holdens 5.7 V8 wont bother the XR8, not even when the 5.4 litre V8s payload of 260kw {estimated}and 500nm at 4,250rpm is unloaded in a hurry. Traction control of course is part of Fords throttle by wire technoligy, but expect 0-100kmh excitment in the high 5 sec range and 400m in less than 14 sec with the standard BTR lsd 3.23:1 differential and tremec T45 five speed manual gearbox from the Mustang.

Still confident of 190kw for base Falcon not sure if it will be called Forte.

New Mustang will use XR8s and T4s 5.4 V8 and is a chance to share the best Rear drive platform aswell.

Ford calling prototypes T4s but may change to GTs when launched?

Estimated XR6 T power of 230kw but they do seem positive with their torque figures. 450nm @ 4500rpm for XR6 T.

XR8 a 13 sec 1/4 miler? If thats right noone in an HSV will look an XR in the eye at the lights.

If the XR8 has that diff ratio and does 0-100 that quick it will be a weapon and a half on the highway. Motor have drawn up an estimated comparo for BA vs VY and the use XR6 T to take on SS and state that XR8 will take Clubby. Still positive T4 will have 300 and 530nm.
