Motorshow - VY Calais

I have to say, that out of the Ford and Holden stands, this car caught my attention the most. While Ford with the BA range have left us non XR owners little option to sport up the car, Holden with the VY have a great range of options, just look at this awesome Calais, have to say that it beats the Ghia hands down in exterior looks.

By comparison, a Ford with optional bodykit and alloys

I know it's an XT against Calais, but still comparing kit/wheel option.

EDIT: Not to brag for Holden too much, here is the best car at the show, the GT-P - http://www.fordgallery.com/data/500/4079gtp.jpg

Have a few more pics from the show but nowhere to host so if anyone is interested, let me know :) )

I can't agree. It may be my bias but the Falcon is more intergrated with it's kits. With the Commodre it looks like they tack on a few plastic bits.

I've seen that Ghia too and I am Ford bias as well, but I mean more along the lines of options from the factory, that Calais is Holden By Design, the only thing I can do with a Ghia from the Factory is put on a bodykit? I would take a done up AU over VT/VX but I have to say I'd prefer this Calais to the BA Ghia in that pic. What have I come to !?!

i don't like the look of the calais anyway, the front looks cheap as (the front looks as dodgy as it gets). the car looks wrong. IMHO the BA fairmont ghia shats all over the calais, in all areas. Unless its a sports model i don't care for body kits. The ghia looks better on its own (doesn't need tarting up like the holden equivalents).

that blue car is a xt or a futura, not a ghia. there is no way that calais looks better than a ghia get a pic f the ghia in same colour and some 18" and from the same angle. so we can compare properly.

Who says the Ghia needs a body kit anyway. A nice set of 18's and a bit of lowering is all it takes. Like the Acid rush one on FPV day.

Dude there's no way anyone will agree with you on this board.. But i can see what your saying. I like both the VY and the BA, and the calais looks mighty fine to me.

fte22, I agree with you!!!! I reckon the VY Calais with the HBD bodykit is even better looking than the SS.

Cheers :s5

Touchy touchy people, a few raw nerves If anybody bothered to read what I said in my first and subsequent posts, you will see I'm just stating what I see Maybe I could compare a similar Ghia to the Calais, but where's Ford to bring one out?! I'm talking about factory options, and I would not be able to option up my Ghia to the same spec as I could my Calais. There was a beautiful AUIII Ghia last year with bodykit and 17" wheels, lowered to XR height etc...... that's what I mean.

I thought we weren't supposed to be as bias as the Holden people?
