Just out of curiosity

Are you against all forms of stripes including pin striping or just the big stripes that have been released on the new FPV range?

If you read his posts carefully, you would notice that his rage is directed only against the stripe kit on the BA GT and GT-P. If you continued to read carefully, you'd find out why too...

I agree with Sparkles... please for a 60k plus car with a 400 option of stick ons.. please they should have thought hard and strong about this....

Maybe leaving it to the next model aka gtho!

A fair question Ben!

Ford Fanatic summed it up pretty well. I'm by no means against all stripes - there is a time and place for most styling cues, but on the BA FPV range, they simply don't belong. They work well and look good on other cars, but they simply don't suit the character or design of the BA.

Ford has introduced a heavy European DNA into the BA and this is a great thing. This also dictates a more subtle form of aggression, achieved through a tough stance and clean lines, rather than through stickers and over-the-top plastic add-ons (although I'm not a huge fan of the rear spoiler!). M5 instead of Veilside, in other words.

Does that answer the question sufficiently?

And AP adds that Sparkles misses the wants and needs of the target audience who have shown that such things are what sells the cars.

The M5 thing was tried earlier in the AU series and it didn't work. Simple.

I'm with the Sparkler on this one. When you actually read through the sales figures you find that only some colours and models are attracting the stripe enthusiast.

AU T was too subtle for Australian tastes (as we discovered) but that was largely resolved with T3. The impact of the stripes on sales would be at best negligible.

For what it's worth (not too much really) a GT should have stripes. Having said that though the choice of colour combos leaves a lot to be desired.

Although the black stripes on the orange looks very GT, I would have to say that if I were in a position to buy one then the silver stripes over 'Blueprint' would have to be the most favoured.

However, orange stripes over purple is a real turn-off.
