Re: Mustang VS Monaro......

Must say i'm not a fan of the GTO either, however the original Simcoe clean design monaro i really like. I wouldn't mind either a Series I or II CV8 or the Mustang.

Re: Mustang VS Monaro......

that image is like comparing Akia to Sony. The GTO just looks cheap and don't get me started on the scoops

Even if they import a few mustangs at 80k a piece they'd still sell like hotcakes... wonder is mr Gorman is listening....

gotta-have-it factor (25)

Re: Mustang VS Monaro......

Seems to me they made up a few 'bullshit' factors to get the US product over the line. Don't get me wrong I would have a Mustang over the GTO in a heartbeat, but if you look at all the stats at the end of the review it does look a bit suss. The GTO is ahead all the way then suddenly the 'Stang makes it over the line based on some completely abstract factor.

Looked to me like the gave the win to the Mustang simply because they couldn't stand the looks of the GTO - can't say I blame them either!

yeah the gotta-have-it-factor, why would it be out of 25???? it's not even important to the comparison

The Commodore has always been based on a modified Opel platform - stretched in all directions to make the car bigger for us aussies. The Catera was pretty much just a badge job, so it and the Omega are both quite a bit smaller, although looking very similar.

I have a 1978 Wheels magazine. The one with the 3 Falcs on the cover, XK, XR and XC. Inside is a story on a German Opel Senator. It has Overhead cam, Fuel injection, 4 speed auto, 4 wheel disks AND IRS, In 1978. Look what we got dished up. 80% local content heap of junk.
