My Dad
My dad likes looking at cars, occasionally he'll buy one, but more often than not he'll just kick a tyre or two.
Some weeks ago he looked at a Falcon. Not just a XT or something similar, but a fully optioned XR6. Turbo of course. He came home with the brochures, the trim and colour samples and put them where everyone saw them. He does that. Still doesnt neccesarily mean he'll buy one though.
We all ignored them. I think he just likes to look at the pictures. No one thought twice about it.
Yesterday i came home and announced myself as i came through the front door. I promptly suggested that my pa should buy an XR6 Turbo as i had just been blown into submission in a traffic light drag race.
I suggest alot of things to my dad. Most of which he ignores. A normal response to this suggestion would be ; "Why, i have two cars already, why do i want another?"
However, yesterday, he retorts
"Whys that?"
"Well dad, with 240Kw, and oodles of Torque, you'd be king of road!" I said, (or something similar)
"Yeah but y'know theres a 6 month waiting list for those?"
"Better put your name down now then eh Dad!"
[pause...for dramatic effect]
"How do you know i already haven't"
Dad walks off to fix himself a cuppa
"Dad, dad, whatya mean? Dad?"
He's said nothing more. I just dismissed it as him giving me a little curry (he knows i want one), except that Ford brochure hasnt been thrown out by mum as most are. It pops up every week or so, just for a day, then disappears from wence it came.
Now my question is, he prolly hasnt gotton a SIDO yet, but, is there anyone here than may be able varify wether or not he's put a deposit down?
