Thumbs up My Gen3 Experience

I have driven Gen3's before but never in anger.........until yesterday, got handed the keys to a VUSS ute, stock as a rock, six speed and told to just go for it, dont hold back..... Im not one for holding back at the best of times so given an invite like that It was all on.

Damn do those things go or what?, Ive had an upbringing on EA-BA's including an XR8 and now the BA XR6 and thought some of these used to go pretty good, boy was I wrong!!

The most powerfull car I had driven before was my mates 250kw Pursuit ute (auto) and that didnt feel to have the same amount of grunt as this SS, the bastard just doesnt run out of steam it just keeps on charging and swings the tacho so quick your onto the limiter before you get a chance to go for the next gear if your not quick enough.

So all in all, I was stunned. For anyone that hasnt driven one of these things I recommend taking one for a thrash, you will have a grin from ear to ear I can assure you.

And just for the record this ute has 35k, was rebuilt at 16k and this engine is on it's way out also.

Re: My Gen3 Experience

go figure....

i have driven quite a few of them, 99% of the time like a biatch, but occasionally flat through 1st into second.

i have driven manual SS sedans that wouldnt pull the skin off a rice pudding, but then stepped into a stocko auto statesman that would chirp into second and start to step out before the traction control spoiled the fun...

some of them go indecently hard, others are sloths - i dunno why...

Re: My Gen3 Experience

Go good or not: you can shuv the all alloy block, because they can't stand upto it for as long as an 8 should.
