Well everyone, I have had a great opportunity handed to me. My Dad wants to sell his motorbike to me. And at a greatly reduced price.

It is a 1999 Honda CRB1100XX Blackbird. In Blue. (Looks like Blueprint actually)

The price?

$4,000.

Why so cheap? Well, it is my Dad.

0-100 in about 2.5 seconds.
1/4 mile in the mid 10 second range.

The XR6 Turbo may be quick, but I think I will be a little quicker.

The bike has about 50,000ks on it, and is in immaculate condition. I have to go to Melbourne to pick it up, and then ride it back to Sydney.

I will post pictures if I can get my hands on a digital camera.

Yep Driver, know the feeling, that was me 10 years ago and I have still not got over it.

I made a promise not to buy another bike for 5 years but after that I made her promise that I can buy whatever bike I like. :)

So these days I am left with scrounging bikes from mates for a quick blat whenever I can.

I think my biggest problem will be keeping my license.

And rear tyres.

I have ridden the bike down the Great Ocean Road, and it is sooo fast!!! You can be cruising alone in 3rd gear at 50ks, crack the throttle open, and BANG, you are doing over 160. It is Bullshit Fast!!

A Honda Blackbird - For $4000 ?!?!?!?!?!

Dammm......
Ive spent around $2500 just getting my old Gixxer up and running
And all that included was 2 wheels, some brackets, paint, and Fairing !!!!!!

For those that have no Idea about motorbikes,
The Honda BlackBird is one of the Quickest Production Bike in the world !

From memory, the Blackbird had around > 120Kw.
I dunno how much they weigh, but my Gixxer 750 weighs in at 208Kg Stock, so that will give you some idea of the power/weight ratio that the blackbird would have !
(The Blackbird wouldnt be too much heavier than the Gixxer)

Yes those eleven hunjies are pretty quick. I was gonna buy a ZZR1100, but I thought going up from a two fiddy to an 1100 would be a bit insane...so I bought a ZZR600 instead...but I am happy with it.

Blackbird is quick off the mark, but at around 180 the 'Busa and the ZX-12R (now THAT is a wikked bike) reel it in and pass it.

There is a video on the market, which you can get from some bike shops which show a 'Busa, a ZX-12, a Blackbird and an R1 having a race on some road somewhere. Its a wikked film, a must see if you are into your bikes.

Just stay upright son.
