Car - BA XT 5.4 Manual, Herrod Cat back 3" single exhaust, Herrod Suspension and 19" Wheels.
I left Canberra with about 1/2 a tank of Optimax and drove to Holbrook.
According to the trip computer my average speed was 97klm/hr and average consumption was 8.6 L/100klm. (gotta be happy with that)
After filling with normal unleaded I continued to Herrods for an average of 103klm/hr and 9.5 L/100klm. As this part of the trip is mostly divided road I was a bit surprised at the consumption although it can't all be attributed to the different fuel as the speed checking thingo just south of Albury/Wodonga said my speedo was 6k's fast so I upped the pace a bit.
I left the car with Jeff at Herrods at about 6.30am and wandered of through the fog to find some coffee and have a look around the area.
When I returned at about 10.30 the Motor and Gearbox(with some funny looking black pipes hanging off the heads) were about to be put back in place.
I was sitting in the office reading old car magazines wondering how I was going to fill in rest of the morning when in wanders a guy who turned out to be "Pop Herrod", After solving the woes of the world and getting a guided tour of the place I suddenly heard a GLORIOUS sound coming from the back of my BA as it was reversed off the Hoist.
A quick test drive and Rob put it on the Dyno, 188rwkw!!! (Who's a happy boy?).
After parting with some hard earned I headed back to Canberra at about Midday, The first thing I notice is the massive increase in performance (recently dyno'd in Canberra @ 173rwkw) and the fact that a stereo is now not required (can't beat the music out the back).
Fuel consumption dropped to 9.2L/100klm on the way to Glenrowan Nth where I filled up with BP premium.
I pushed a bit harder once I got into NSW until being pulled up by member of their constabulary near Jugiong after blasting past him in an unmarked car on an overtaking lane. I think he was just curious as to what the car was (no badges) as I wasn't booked and all the talk was about the car.
Arrived home at 6.30pm to an average of 8.8L/100klm and 104klm/hr.
Thanks to Rob, Jack, Jeff and the crew at Herrods for a Job well done, I would reccomend these guys to anyone who wants top value for their $$$, when it comes to Ford Performance these guys are No 1.
Cheers, Bazza.
ps: I even got to check out the Minge Mobile.
Excellent stuff! 188rwkW is a great result, and particularly so when you look at those consumption figures.
Now - when are you going to get some sound bites of the new system!

Clicky clicky here for previous ride! I still miss her!
Damn I need to get to 5000km because you've copied my plan - the Saturday exhaust fit with dual Cannonball Run.
Now you see why we rave about how easy it is to be a customer!

Good one Bazza. Well worth the trip. That puts it at about 250Kw at the flywheel - not a bad increase at all! So the headers and 3" exhaust are worth 30kw - great result. You should surprise some XR6T and XR8 owners now, not to mention the SS and Clubbie brigade!
