i just bought a Ford Fairmont Ea 89 My problem is that it is stock as a rock i want to do it up abit with lowering it and without spending thousands of dollar i want to get the car a face lift inside and outside. Problem two the engine is a carby motoer what mods can i do to get more grunt out of it. Problem three i am going to give it a respray any ideas on what colour i can do it
good pick on the car :)
i'd say best place to start would be taking a look around at a wreckers, most people will suggest to get an MPFI conversion done. other then that, look at other ppls cars on here and see what you like. :)

theres no such thing as a carby'd EA, althought the CFI throttlebody is really only a carby with injectors instead of jets...
I would start by doing a search for MPFI conversion, thats definately the best thing you can do to a CFI, next would be a T5 conversion and diff change depending how serious you are.
As for the repsray, remember if you change colour you have to do door jams, engine bay etc etc

i was talking to a friend who smashed up his ea and he said i have the engine and 4 speed gearbox for $750 there is nothing wrong with the enigne or gear box i had a quick look seem to be ok i am just wondering if i am paying to much?
Yes, I know they don't exist. It's obviously some sort of rumour that started because of people getting confused about CFI. I've had a few people claim there were carby EAs, only to stand corrected.
ok then i have the carby on top of the motor could it be add i have read the the owner manual it has two pictures the first one has the EFI engine that has the carby it is same setup as the normal ea motor but with the carby setup but where it is marked it has air cleaner and element. The second one has the multi point efi engine so does that help abit more
