Need PC help: Saving online content as jpeg

Hi Guys,

I'm a complete DINGBAT when it comes to this. I've been stuck with this problem for ages. Everytime I try to save a picture off the Internet, the default file extension option that I have is .BMP....and nothing else. What happened to .GIF and .JPG???? I'm using Windows XP and Internet Explorer. Please help me out coz I really hate to work wtih BMP files.

Thanks in advance

I have heard this can happen (all pics save as untitled.bmp) if your Temporary Internet Files folder hasn't been emptied in a while.

In Internet Explorer, go to Tools->Options. In the middle in the Temporary Internet Files section click on Delete Files. Select the Delete All Offline Content box and click OK. Depending on how much you had in there it could take a while.

Once that's done, go to the website again and try to save the pics again.
