Need your opinion on mud flaps and pin stripes

I've been recommended to remove the pin stripe and mud flaps from my ED Fairmont now that I have it lowered.

I was initially under the impression this would look 'gay' but I've been told it looks stacks better... so...

Here's some pictures can you tell me wheat I should do!

DO tickford make shorter mud flaps for the XR cars so they don't drag?

The link to the pictures.

Thanks for your time!

My EB is dropped on it guts and suffers mud flat scrapage on speed bumps....would I be risking paint chips from stones removing the mud flaps? Also whats the legallity as I had to take my EA over the pits once and had to replace a missing flap to get it through?

I don't have a liking for mud flaps, however they protect your paint on roads that arn't well sealed. Keep the stripes, it breaks up the paint scheme. However, you can always put new ones on!

I just cut the bottom off my mudflaps to stop them being scaped along the ground all of the time. Loose the pin stripe, looks alot neater.

Remove the pin stripe and mud flaps from one side and compare the look. You can always screw the mud flaps back on and get someone to replace the stripe.

You may of realised by now everyone has there own opinon. Do what you think is best.

I took the stripes off, washed and detailed the car (3hrs!!) Heres a picture.

I think it looks heaps better, I haven't taken the flaps off because the drivers side one has scraped a line of paint off and it has some surface rust on it so I need to get that sanded and painted before I remove them.

Looks heaps better without!

Anything that clutters up the clean lines of the EA-ED's makes them look worse.

That pic loox heaps better 94_EDFairmont.
Your paint job is a damn sight better than mine, but it does vastly improve the look of the beast.
Hope u think the same!
