Hmmm IMHO its looks different and not to my liking. I am sorry to say BMW have lost all my support. From what I have seen of the new SLK from spy pics mercedes seems to be heading this way too. Oh dear. So what do others think??

The headlights look like those women who look like they've slipped with the Mascara - Yuck! As for the back - what the hell are their designers smoking? maybe with some of that the thing will look good!

Not happy Jan :/
I personally love BMW styling, as its generally subtle but very very purposeful. This seems like, gawd a kit car.

well i like it...ok the 7 series is a bit over board but this is kinda in between..not to far out.

I think its about time bmw, merc, and audi etc etc pull their thumbs out and think of somehting new.

This goes for jaguar as well, they have that bloody XJ shape for ages...I know its kind of a trade mark but how long can you look in the past for??

I think good on BMW for having the balls to change...you watch everyone well slowly follow suit.

Hmm...
Cover the car from the bottom of the side window down, and how much does the side profile and the roof look like a BA??

Looks VERY similar to me, especially the 3/4 rear end shot.
As for the rest, YECH!!!!!

Just an opinion 'tis all......

I don't mind a change in styling (its needed)but not too way over the top. I guess though that the old saying "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." comes into play here. Oh well I am curious to see what the new M series will look like. The new 3 series seems to have similar headlight cluster as the 7 series from what I saw in the spy pics. Hmmm the next few months will bring us a lot from the car industry!!!

hmmm to go further with what XR8ED has said to me the doors on the car reek A4 all over :) Also remember this is only my opinion so please don't sue me over it!!

I don't mind the front of it.. side profile & rear will need time to grow on me but I don't find it repulsive or anything. Love to take one for a drive..

Front reminds me of Spock when Captain Kirk makes a comment that was not logical and Spock raises his already raised eyebrows. What the hell are they putting into the water in Munich. Merc and Audi must be ROFL not to mention some of the other continental car manufactures. If I had the money I would be placing an order for the last of the current 540's and watch it appreciate iin value while the owners of the new model cause more laughs/or screwed up stares as they drive by.

I think it will grow on me. IMHO BMW had the same problem visually that Holden had - when the market appears to like a certain shape, and its time to upgrade, what can you do? Often take it a step backwards. However, it will work, it got that eruo look to it.

After all, Alfa still sells and their fubar imho.

I think they're on the right track with the front, maybe if they put the indicator part below the headlights, that might help to start off with. The back looks like a WRX. The interior looks old and outdated like the 77 Merc we used to have. Just not good enough.
