Just wondering if anyone out there has seen the new ad for AAMI insurance. There is a young bloke parking an EA/EB model Falcon when he pulls the rear bumper off a black 911 Porsche. They stand behind the Porsche discussing insurance when some bloke jumps in the Falcon and drives off. The voiceover says that you can have theft cover for an extra $75.
Funny thing is AAMI or just about any other insurance company for that matter will not pay a claim for theft when the keys are left in the ignition. You would think that they would read the fine print on their own policy before they made this ad. Are these people really that stupid?
Cheers, Danny

bit of an anti-early-e-series thing goin on today when it comes to television ads, first that stupid magna one where the council ppl dump one in a skip, now this where a typical 'inexperienced' (the impression i got from the way they made him act and look) driver has a minor accident in one.

Good pick up. Yes totally agree they should have consulted with the numpties in the claims department before releasing the ad.
I can't help but think it sends a false message to consumers that insurance companies will cover you for anything and everything, when really there are many loopholes that are listed in the 90+ page motor insurance policy documents many of us couldn't be arsed reading.

numpties? - The claims dept know more about law, cars and liability than most on here!
Insurance do cover everything! Unless you are being fraudulent claim.
Don't know about other companies, but RACV have no loopholes in their 70 page policy booklet, oh and it is that easy to read. If you 'can't be arsed reading it', well prepare to loose and be confused!

Maybe you could use it if your car gets stolen, but its an insurance company....they'll beat you
Why would they want too? If they break the Insurance Contracts Act, they will be severely fined!
Quote:
sue them, all proceeds go to the forums
You can't. It would be like suing yourself!
