This will be in most cars....Forte, Futura, S pack, Fairmont and Utes
Turbo Low pressure 6
DOHC, VCT 4.0, with 210kw
This will be Standard in Fairmont Ghia and Fairlane
Turbo High pressure 6
DOHC, VCT 4.0, with 230kw
This will just be for the XR6
Then there will be the V8's
There will be only one base to make engines from
Low power V8
5.4l Quad cam with 240kw
Used Std in LTD and XR8, and optional on everything else
High power V8
5.4l Quad cam with 275kw
Used in T series cars
Dont get too excited, its just what I think!, what about yourselves?
Sounds about right. Well sounds pretty close to what the magazines think anyway. I'd say that for the standard falcon/futura/fairmont ect will use the sohc 5.4L while the T-series/XR will use the DOHC. I also Hope Tickford make a Turbo 6 car under the FTE brand if it's still operable, and have it to go 250kw and really BLOW AWAY the XU-6.

isnt the v8, as in the mustangs a quad cam?, as in there are 2 cams on each bank of cylinders? sounds to be in a league of its own compared to a simple boring little SOHC!, why would they even bother with such rubbish?
NO SOHC V8 for AV i say!!!

yes the mustang has the quad cam, but it's only a 4.6L which doesnt have the best torque curve. a 5.4L sohc would have more torque if pushing the same power as the 4.6L naturally, so seeing as the DOHC 5.4 coes with 240kw (?) stock, they wouldnt want to detune, but rather use a less powerful variant.

The 5.4l sohc engines in the F250's are rated at 194kw@4500rpm and 475Nm@2500rpm. These engines are meant to be tuned for torque, so if we are getting this engine in the lower models we should see more power hopefully.
