Smile new car

we,, i have decided on the car for me. assuming i am not going to get completely screwed by the insurance company, i will make the owner an offer tomorrow.

i could ask people to guess, but it isnt likely anyone will guess what it is, so i wont. instead, i will tell you that it is a 1985 Ford Sierra XR4i. it has a 2.8 fuel injected V6 that puts out about 150bhp. 0-100 in approx 7.5 secs and a top speed of 130mph. incidentally, why is a six cylinder car being badged as XR4????? has air, sunroof, leccy windows, trip computer. is completely rust free and very straight. negatives are that the windscreen glass has bubbles in it (weirdest thing i have seen) which will be replaced, a tear in the seat fabric on the drivers seat, a cracked dash top and razor blade tyres. and thats it.

the sad part is that i will have to part company with the fiesta. the car has no acceleration (but did just edge out a chrysler neon the other day ), handles like a dog on wet lino, has not a lot of brakes, is very small and the paint is stuffed. however, i have grown to love the little car. it has been completely reliable and has carted a load of things about in the back, including wheels, struts, a 6ft bookcase (it hung out a little), a laundry cupboard and countless other things. bye bye little fester...

will let you know what the insurance company say and if / when the car becomes mine.

You wash your car like it was your firstborn child, you tend to its needs like it was your own body, you protect it like it's your family, then you drive it like you stole it.

Re: new car

Way to go Gerry. Another ford in the family. Guess that means no Mini this time.

Re: new car

That's an interesting choice and certainly something unique and different! Sounds to be very well equipped engine-wise and for appointments, so with a few extra $$$ to address the probs you list, should be a great little device.

Pics are required! :s6:

cars are a lethal weapon, your not invinsible when you get into one,and no matter how much skill you think you have, you are never in control you are always on the edge of death it may not happen today but if you keep driving like you do,you too will end up dead!
