Hahaha, Holden have now released a VY Commodore Lumina, seams like they are trying to fight back. We might see a new Falcon SR soon!

The Lumina existed as value special to attract private buyers. Ever since the VT-VX, Holden has been releasing a regular stream of limited edition models. Ford was wise and followed suit with the AU.

Then again, BA is so blatantly aimed at private buyers to start with, maybe it doesn't need limited edition models so much.

Special Value Packs (SVP's) like the Lumina are typically used as a means to clear slow moving stock. Essentially, an SVP is merely another way of giving a customer a discount, it's just a little better disguised than advertising that you can save $3500 on a new VY!! Damb good way to clear stock though!! Makes you wonder whether Holdens much bragged about 600+ unit capacity per day is doing much more than filling Australias holding yards!!

After all, it's very soon after a new vehicle launch to be releasing SVP's!!

Does it seem strange to anyone else??

Yeah thats what i thought, Id say holden is a bit worried about the XT and the options it has. So they have decided to offer the executive with a sweater package.
