Falcon Killer (if you believe what Ford Service Departments have to say about me)
AU II XR6 - October 2001 ~ December 2002 - RIP
BA XR6 - December 2002 ~ Soon to disappear if Ford CRC can't fix it....
45,000km service coming up - and i'll be asking for a sizable list of fixes:
* Gearbox (3rd time)
* Steering click (5th time)
* Brake Shudder (2nd time, and has the applied "Fix")
It looks to me like it'll be a automotive toy story type thing, animated cars, trailer didn't show anything to give us any idea of the storyline...
To benefit those on dial-up (like me), here is a quick summary of the trailer (might have some mistakes, so shoot me! ):
"From the makers of Finding Nemo, Toy Story & A Bugs Life" (as this comes up on screen, we see a bee buzzing from flower to flower)...
Then all of a sudden, splat, the bee is splattered all over the windscreen of an animated towtruck (in a simular visual style to the characters from other Pixar films), which then starts to swerve all over the road, saying "It's on the windshield, I can't see nuffin! I'm blind! I'm blind! I can't see!".
At this point, an animated sportscar (which sorta has a passing resemblance to a Dodge Viper) drives up along side the towtruck. "What's wrong, what happened?" asks the sportscar.
"I killed a baby bumblebee" replies the towtruck.
"Oh come on, would you quit your bawling, it could be a lot worse" - sportscar.
"I don't see how it could be worse" - towtruck.
At this point, a large amount of flying insects fly directly in the path of the sportscar, which then makes noises you'd make if you swallowed something you didn't want to, while the towtruck laughs.
"Gross!" says the sportscar.
Fade to black, then we see "Walt Disney Pictures presents"... "A Pixar animation studios film"...
Now we see a nascar-style oval track, and hear racecar engines running around the track.
We see one of the nascar-style cars racing around, then pull into the pits. New tyres are put on, then the racecar peels out of the pits leaving a cloud of burnt rubber as it does fishtails up the pit straight before it rejoins the race.
We see one of the racecars nudge another one, and it spins 180 degrees, before sliding sideways towards the wall. Then we see two racecars nudging each other as they race to the finishline before one of them gets away from the other and crosses the line first.
At this point, the camera pans backwards, showing us that the race we had been watching was actually on a drive-in screen, and the towtruck and sportscar from earlier are watching it, as the name of the movie is revealed on the drive-in screen - "Cars".
"Woohoo! Damn gump! (Not sure if he says gump or what there) I tell you what sun, I'd drive my tyres over a line of busted glass just to see that picture right there!" says the tow-truck.
Cars, November 2005
Hope that's been some help, and that I've described it well enough...
