New GTO Scoops are not enough

3 pages, and only 1 person thinks the GTO is alright on this American Forum (Ford, GM, Dodge mix)

http://forums.pickuptruck.com/showfl...b=5&o=&fpart=1

looks like the car is too conservative for a sports car - gee i would hate to see what they think of the Holden Monaro version... Mind you, i think the bonnet scoops dont suit the Holden as much as they do on the Pontiac.. look out of place. I wonder how the car is taken in England?

The bit I like is where they claim it can do 11.8 down the quarter mile.
The poor bastards have no taste. Look at the piles of crap they drive around in over there.

I've heard stories of how Aussies visit the US and someone there asks, "Do you know 'so-and-so'?" but thought that was just a joke.

In 2000 I visited the US and on the plane from NY to Raleigh the chap next to me asked if I knew some film producer in Melbourne. I was like someone actually asked that in real life!

And I was at being told I had a foreign accent.

Re: New GTO Scoops are not enough

Someone should log on, tell them where it's made and see their reaction.
Made and designed importantly. We tack on their adjustments. Thing is they'd
like theirs more I'm sure.

Re: New GTO Scoops are not enough

Compared to the local muscle cars the Monaro/GTO is pretty tame. Dont forget Pontiac are the same guys who made the WS6 Transam, now THAT thing had some big scoops.
Whether its made or designed in Australia or anywhere else is irrelevant, different tastes for different markets.
Did anyone see that Pontiac inhouse design team who made that GTO with a different powertrain, widebody kit and those nice big pipes behind the wheels? THAT should have been the GTO, if you look at the original GTO the Monaro/GTO does not cut it.
