Anybody else seen Australian Muscle Car magazine yet?

Had a quick peek at newsagent today.. not bad, but a bit sameish I thought..

Plenty of good old metal, but bugger all new. Typical really. There is not one magazine dedicated to modern performance Fords, and countless Commonwhore mags.. a very sad state.

There is no Modern Perofrmance Fords. Name me some? No one can be bothered, you can hardly go very far with the winsor, yes I know laminge's and Petes, but they're an excpetion. YOu can put TT on our IL6, but not many popele can be bothreed doing that either. Wait till AV my friend, we will have 5.4 V8s and Turbo IL6's coming out of our arses and the magazines.:s5

I bought the mag on friday & its not bad for a first up effort so I'll wait until a few more issues come out before casting judgement

As for modern fords there are a few US mags that deal with the modern mechanical side of things exclusively & I think Performance Ford has a good spread of modern & traditional Fords as I don't think there is enough outstanding late model Fords out there to have a mag dedicated to them apart from mabey a one of or quarterly one but at the same time I feel there are many that deserved to be recognised & feel the mag has been doing that well.

I thought the magazine rocked.
(Then again I'm gettin' on, I consider anything from the 80's on as modern).

There are plenty of Ford articles, isn't a preview of a new MMS AU coupe in-the-build and a right up of the T3 engine about modern stuff?

The most important thing is it is based on AUSTRALIAN street car heritage. Touring cars, Bathurst, homologations specials. Plus there was a healthy mix of retro-tech cars that is the only way forward to keep some of these classics on the road. As Street Machine magazine has dumped this sort of vehicle and returned to the US culture of drag racing and Pro-Streeters I reckon it was the best magazine I have brought in a long while.

Have you seen any of the fords coming out of places like croydon autosports and herrods?? there are 3 natually aspirated AUXR8 utes pumping out more than 200kw at the wheels that I know personally. (All croydon cars)

There are a few beauties in the ACT (YLO00Z for one), and even in Perth (SVO302)

These are all 200kw+ at the wheels.

And hopefully I will be pumping out more than 200 at the paws within the next 3 months.

I thought the new magazine was great.Loved the articles with Dick Johnson and Allan Moffat.

Got it today, looks pretty OK for a first effort, but I don't know where it's headed, as there aren't that many Aussie muscle carsreally (compared to the US). I hope they don't turn it into an oldie mag dedicated to the 'glory days' of the Mountain. that would suck, and it's now pretty irrelivant.
On a side note, the editor is the infamous commentator, "Boaster Oastler"
