I saw a new mondeo driving around in Geelong a few days ago. Was coverered in dirt, which you're average new mondeo driver wouldnt do(and they dont sell them of course) so I guess it was a test car.
They really do look good!

Is there any chance they will be brought out?

erm, if ford hadnt made the decision to cann the mondeo a few years back then it is quite possible it could have been a new model...... but they did, so it wont be!

mondeos are looking decicivley tired now, not cared for.
they are becoming the bush bashing equivelant of the escort, and gee arent they fun

no no no! this was the new model! I assure you! Sharp lines, big wheels, look very nice! Stylewise goes against the new Vectra. Definitely the model that is sold in Europe.(I've been there and seen them there too)

At a price equivalent (thanks to tarriffs) to the lux spec vectra, that isnt selling

Lets just hope its a diplomatic car thats spent the weekend bush - we can only hope.

If they want to get into the 6 market, why don't thye just bring back the telstar, and avoid the high tarriff rates.....

I thought I heard ages ago that Ford were going to investigate bringing out the TX5 again - a Mazda 6 rebadged like normal...

but who knows!

If the sheep farmers buy Mondeo's .Why don't they sell here ? The population of OZ is a lot more than NZ!

Because NZ doesn't have an automotive industry, hence no automotive tarriffs. Population has nothing to do with it. Mondeo has also substantially gone up in manufacturing costs.

Anyway, FordAus got burned and owned last time they tried the mondeo - when the mondeo was a cheaper car. "Global car", yeah right, and they killed a perfectly good "sports version" of the mazda 626, which actually got sales, allbeit the v6 didnt sell too well for unknown reasons.
