Seeing as everyone on here uses one, atleast everyone who hasn't got a notebook, what is the best value/style/performance mouse on the market at the moment. Sounds abit like pcoty.

The one i am using at the moment is shagged and feels more like a rat to operate than a mouse. Also when i was out looking the other day i noticed these gell/wrist mouse pads. Are they gimmicky or do they really work?

Can't be the Micosoft Optical mouse. Beautiful and smooth :) (Great for games too) and reasonably cheap.

I second the optical mouse, fantastic bit of gear!

Have you checked the rollers in your current mouse? They generally clag up over time and require periodical cleaning.

opticals good....DO NOT GET WIRELESS unless you have shares in DURACELL or EVERYREADY batteries!

I have noticed some OT's question the use of wrist supports. They claim good seating position and mouse position is important. I wouldn't buy one.

As for the mouse, I agree with the others, go optical/wheel.

around 50 bucks will get you a microsoft optical mouse.. not the fancy 'explorer' job, just the simple optical one(or the one what has a couple of buttons).. you can get it in black too. uses either PS/2 or USB ports.

i reckon the wrist pads are gimmicky too, but thats jsut my opinion.

Optical all the way. Either Logitech or Microsoft (i'd go microsoft). I'd go to harvey norman's or something and try them all out in your hand, see which one's feel the best.

I got an optical (no name brand) 3 button scroll mouse for $15 wholesale through a comp. guy I know. Works a treat!

I had a Jelly type wrist support mouse pad. They are pretty comfy but I recommend making sure they are regularly cleaned if you are still using the ball type mouse. The pad cost me $40 retail. I dont use it anymore. Wouldnt worry about it. Save for an optical. They are great!

Ah...that was the other type of mouse i was thinking of....so they chew through batteries pretty quickly. Na as nice as it would be to be cordless i don't like the idea of purchasing batteries all the time.

I have a microsoft optical. Intellimouse explorer. I love it. Never have any probs. I got mine 3 years ago for $99 but best money i spend on a mouse...so comfy, so nice....
