New Ralliart Magna coming

Yes it has 180 Kw @5500 / 333Nm @4000.. 0 to 100 in 6:71 /
0-400 in 14:78 sec.. Has a.b.s, nothing new but has e.b.d {electronic brake force distribution}
Has fairly good sound system too 188 watt 14 speaker "Eclipse" audio system with 7 c.d in dash... Just a shame it's f.w.d..
Price ??? Just over $50.000...

Any one else see a 6 pack war on the horizon? Looking forward to a drive of the C32 on Friday. V6 and blown but still rear wheel drive!

Yes the fight for a quick 6 is definitly on. Seems it hasn't worn of since the Chrysler Hemi days.

Yeap, gotta admit the RallyArt is quick, smooth and refined. But don't forget one thing it's over $50k ford haven't got a hot six in the same bracket juust yet.

Time for the Strider to make a few calls to Herrod me thinks. :s6: :s6:

I think in Japan there is a Turbo version. Rated as always 206 Kw more like 220 Kw...BUT STILL F.W.D..

must say I find the 14.78 claims fairly ridiculous though. Lets get serious here and say its a mid 15 second car which is quick enough.

If it's the 2.5 V6 Twin Turbo Galant you mean, I think you'll find............ IT'S 4WD.

The rally art magna is a interesting car.. The only flaw to it being a ligitimate competitor to a commo S, HSV XU6 or XR6 is FWD..

There was a turbo version of the Magna, called the Diamante, it had a 2.0 L twin turbo, but was still a slug and was 4wd. it had less torque than the V6 3.0..

Holden/Ford should watch mitsubishi. The Rallyart magna could work (jesus people spend ~$20,000 fixing up there pov pack lancers to look like evos), it has balls, and a lsd and put sticky enough hoops on it could be a bit of a track day/street warrior..

But a 4wd Sports model or a 4wd Rally art? Now your talking. around $35-40 for a 162-170Kw 4wd sports model, and your looking at a Real life competitor to a XR6 naturally asperated and a Commo S supercharged..

Supercharged Rallyart 4wd is apparently in the works ~$65k, 230Kw, 1550Kg.. Even bigger brakes. Now your talking a V8 competitor...

Im sure mitsubishi is working on squeezing a retail version of a V8 as soon as possible..
high 14's doesn't sound impossible. That 180kw is maybe a little conservative. Magnas aren't all that heavy..

Seriously tho..

If they could package a 180Kw engine, 4wd drive train into a Sports spec magna for $35-$40k they could have a real winner.. I know I would concider them in todays market.

by my calculations the Magna would be capable of a 14.7 ....... IIIIIIFFFFFFFFFFF (wait for it , wait for it)

- PERFECT TRACTION
- PERFECT LAUNCH
- OPTIMAL DRAG RACE GEARING (inc diff/tyre ratio)
- OPTIMAL BOX

- Not weighting anything more than 1550 which I take it was the no driver no fuel weight.

We all know that these cars wont be optimal for draging sooooooo........ I wouldnt be to scared yet!!

Although if I get wasted by a cardigan wearer I will be getting laughted at so much by my missus.......
