Thumbs down New Revenue Cameras in QLD.

Queensland Police have new revenue cameras.
"A powerful mobile radar that is completely hidden from the view of motorists is the police weapon against speedsters this christmas."
"Mounted on the dash board and operated by hand held remote control, the radar can detect speeding motorists up to 1km away and is impossible for other drivers to spot"
"The US-built Decatur Genesis 11 radar can also differentiate between the speeds of two vehicles at the same time and provide a fater response and greater accuracy
Current radar cameras can only detect vehicles going in the opposite direction, the Decatur can detect going in either direction"
This raises two points.
1 : It is illegal to have anything on the front windscreen that can block vision or distract the driver.
2 : This is hand held remote control. Which means the officer must take a hand of the steering wheel, also illegal.
Another case of one law for us and another for the police.
Studies in Europe have proven that education brings the road toll down. Countries that rely on revenue cameras , the road toll remains high.
Britain is a good example with its GATSO cameras.
When is this speed camera bullshit going to end and sensible laws introduced?

As a Brisvegan you should be aware of the 3 laws.

1) Though shalt not interfere with Pete's money flow.
2) Though shalt not kill (unless the victim was interfering with Pete's moneyflow)
3) Though shalt earn money so as to be able to contribute to Pete's moneyflow.

The camera units sit next to the road. You can't see the current ones other than a great big 4WD on the side of the road.
Same thing I always say, don't speed don't pay, and thankfully we do not have the silly 3km/hr allowance.

Maybe you should realise that police are not subject to the same laws and their vehicles are also exempt from complying with the same laws as the rest of us.....
Better to look into the OH&S and Duty of Care aspects that all employers including the government need to comply with.

Yeah, well you'd need a pretty long lense and gyroscopic stabalizers to take a photo of a number plate 1km away whilst driving.

Here is the unit in question anyway:
