New Roads for us all?

I have just returned from France and boy, I wish I had my XR6 with me. The highways are fantastic.....not like our goat tracks. We had a Peugot 806 (people mover) with 2 litre turbo diesel and we travelled the roads at 170km/h with no problems for spells of nearly 4 hours. When are we going to get roads like this? The French are also great drivers. They don't hog the fast lane and trucks never move away from the kerb.

to me, what you have said is the problem we have here. they are great drivers, dont hog the fast lane and trucks never move away from the kerb.

compare that with Oz. drivers are crap, dont know what mirrors are for, give you rude finger signs should you be so nasty as to beep them when they do something wrong, dont know what a fast lane is, dont look when changing lanes, hog the fast lane, dont know what indicators are, have no notion of giving way, no idea of road sense, no clue about courtesy, trucks like to overtake eachother very slowly...etc etc etc.

and what is our government / s doing? speed cameras and 50 kmh zones. hbloody brilliant.

anyway, sorry about that, hope you enjoyed your trip:s2:
