lookin good! i would have gone for bigger speakers up front - but i started off with a very similar system to that. should keep you happy for a while... :)
Got the system at Gary's car audio. Went to JB after and they couldnt beat it. And the amp they offered wasnt an Alpine. I did want bigger fronts but that requried work on the doors and my buget wasnt going over the 1000 mark
I was surprised that they installed the 6 x 9's for ya, I thought they weren't allowed to cut the parcel shelf anymore? Gman EA had custom pods made by gary's car audio and I must say they did a very impressive job...
I just finished putting 6x9's in my EA without cutting the parcel shelf - did require bending some of the metal protrusions on the bottom of the speaker, but got away with only using 2x 10mm MDF spacers (pioneer 240w 3 way 6x9's), and the louvre still fits on the window (makes for horrible resonant vibration because of the metal make-up but hides the speakers better than "Really well")
Went into JB again today and spoke to the manager who is a good friend of mine. The orginal 6x9's i was getting were last years, so for an xtra $20 i got brand new ones with more power from 220W to 330W and better made material. He also got me an alarm for $282, down from $350.
Anyways here exactly is what i got
Head: Pioneer 50Wx4 DEH-1550 $247
Front: Pioneer 4" 100W 2way TS-G1047 $70
Rear: Pioneer 6x9" 330W 3way TS-A6970E $165
Amp: Alpine 220W 2ch MRPT220 $180
total $662
install and wiring $250
Grand total $912, $12 more then Gary's with better speakers.
I being of the old fart brigade don't understand a thing any of you have said, but I agree, it does sound impressive. One question though, how does one hear the engine making it's beautiful sound if you have that loud doof doof music going?
