Thumbs down New Speed Camera Rakes It In!

The new speed cameras installed at Kogarah NSW near Moorefields High School and the Kogarah hospital were switched on yesterday. These are on a major arterial road, however in recent times this became a school zone meaning 40km/h at certain times.

Well, whilst I sat in the daily traffic grid lock travelling north this morning the free flowing traffic southbound have contributed a fortune in fines because the flash of the camera was running hot!

I notice that the required warning signs for these cameras are much smaller than normal and are obstructed from certain angles so be warned!

I'm all for speed cameras in school zones. It only has to save one kid to make them all worthwhile. Reducing/hiding the signs is a joke however.

hey im all for school zone cameras aswell but depending on the area the school zone is...

areas where it jumps from 70 down to 40 is a joke
they should have reconcidered putting a school right next to a main road maybe....or if it is unavoidable have huge fences along the side of the main road so it is impossible for them to reach the road..how much would a big fence cost?

also having school zones on main roads for high schools - surely by this age they should know what the hell is going on

but yes i DO agree with the school zones in busy little side streets where people are dropping off and picking their kids up from
