Magazine is due out on Feb 11th.

It features pictures of the VE SS, SV8, Exec, and Statesman with some camouflage stickers on, but you can see most of it. Looks quite smart so far with the exception IMO of the Statesmen with a new euro style sloping back.

Not a lot in the way of technical detail is offered, but the VE will be a much heavier car, around 230kgs more! That's more than the current Falcon I think

There will be two suspension systems, a cheaper version for base models, and a more sophisticated one for the sports and luxury models.

I don't have pictures to post but you can see it for yourself at your Newsagent! Overall it looks to be a good model, but will be interested to hear how it performs with the extra weight.

To me the front bumper, grille and lights don't look much different from the VZ. Can't they make it look any different. They have had basically the same front end design for a while now. The rear spoiler looked the same as VZ too. I hope they do put on that much weight as it will be a big advantage for Ford as the BF will be lighter and the 2008 Falcon should hopefully be even lighter than that.

When I first saw the pictures of the VE Commodore I actually thought it looked very 'Ford' like with a VZ front..lol That will go down well..lol

One important thing I've been wondering about is the pricing on the VE.

Considering the BF Falcon is getting rave reviews and is loved by most motoring journalists on looks ,performance and most other area's and the VZ Holden is regarded as old and no where near the league of the BF then it could be said the BF is offering everything that is needed at the moment for a price similar to the VZ.

Holden has spent a crap load on the development of the VE so it would seem likely that it is going to have a higher price than the VZ to recoup some of the development and with the higher features needed to at least be on a par with the BF Falcon.

Now if the VE is priced higher than the BF then it is going to have to have something extra about it to sway people to spend the extra dollars over buying a BF Falcon and this would be more pronounced with fleet sales where pricing is important.

If the VE is more expensive but no better than the BF or perhaps not even as good then an interesting sales battle could be on.

This could be Ford's chance to make some ground perhaps. Ford is on good footing now so they need to reinforce their position.

As for the price my holden spy said it should cost $2,500-$3,000 more per unit to buy
Due the the

17's as sandard
min 300mm disc's
five link rearend
and the fact its a f*@King huge car now

Note(in pics): they have finally fixed the wiper problem all oz cars have and the driver gets a full wipe.(small but fact)


And in closing as you read this post and the mag the man that wrote all the stories on VE has put his electric pen away for the last time with MOTOR
